– World Data Products, Inc. (WDPI), an international supplier of new and refurbished high-end IT equipment for enterprise and government entities, announces the introduction of Worldtech™ Maintenance Services to protect Cisco© equipment.

Worldtech Maintenance Services provides technical support on Cisco equipment, overnight parts replacement, access to certified technicians and custom-designed maintenance options that will save customers about 50% or more over the cost of Cisco’s SMARTnet©. WDPI offers Worldtech Maintenance on all Cisco products it sells as well as existing Cisco products currently in use, whether or not they were purchased from WDPI, without charging for inspection. 

Three levels of coverage are available to tailor a program to meet each customer’s specific needs. WDPI offers 12x5 (7 a.m.- 7 p.m. CST, Monday-Friday), 24/7 and custom support levels offering high-level technical expertise for design, installation and support of Cisco Security, VOIP, Wireless, Switching and Routing. Custom parts sparing of critical hardware are also available to meet customer timelines and objectives. 

Worldtech maintenance can be added to cover hardware that Cisco no longer covers, end of life equipment or used to supplement coverage after the SMARTnet contract expires. Worldtech offers a single point of contact for all WDPI covered hardware, free inbound/outbound shipping if a part is defective, and access to certified technicians for basic configuration support, hardware troubleshooting and next business day parts and replacement.

Recently WDPI conducted a survey with more than 600 customers and prospective customers responding to questions concerning their current SMARTnet contracts, alternatives, and key maintenance needs for their Cisco hardware.

Based on this survey, nearly 60% of current Cisco SMARTnet users were interested in a less expensive third-party maintenance option. Asked if they are interested in a maintenance program that offered parts replacement and technical support, 43% said that they were, with 52% stating hardware replacement as the most important feature of a maintenance program.
