To ensure that every product we sell meets our high quality standards, each refurbished system and component is subjected to a rigorous refurbishment process. All IT hardware refurbished by WDPI is fully reconditioned and tested to meet or exceed original factory performance specifications. The world-class WDPI refurbishment process includes the following steps:
Receiving Process
- Equipment is unboxed and visually inspected.
- Validation of authenticity completed.
- Unique bar code tag applied for tracking purposes.
- Product is received into the ERP system.
- Product is staged for Auditing Process.
Audit Process
- Model and serial numbers are verfied.
- Equipment is examined for cosmetic issues / damage.
- Internal cleaning completed.
- Functional testing completed.
- Product is updated to the current version level, if necessary, and servers are restored to the base configuration.
- Parts are individually packed in anti-static bags.
- Product condition is noted in the ERP system.
- Product is staged for Refurbishment.
Refurbishment Process
- Full diagnostic testing is completed.
- Parts are replaced, if necessary.
- Product reset to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications.
- Final cosmetic cleaning and touch up completed.
- Final quality inspection.
- Product is staged for Inventory Control.
Inventory Control Process
- Product location defined in warehouse and stored in the ERP system.
- Bar coded labels used to track all product movement.
- Weekly cycle counts ensure inventory accuracy.
- Video surveillance ensures security of all activity in warehouse.
- Product is ready and available to be sold.
Order Management Process
- Order is entered into the ERP system.
- Products allocated to an order by model and serial number.
- Order is picked and the bar code label is scanned from location in warehouse.
- Order is delivered to a hardware technician for technical quality assessment.
Technical Quality Process
- Certified technician processes order by type.
- Server/chassis orders are built to custom specifications and retested.
- Parts orders are verified for accuracy and functionality.
- Accessories are added to the order.
- Final order inspecition is completed.
- Q.A. check is completed in the ERP system to verify the parts on the order.
- Packing slip is generated.
- Order is staged for packing and shipping.
Packing and Shipping Process
- Final step in quality assurance.
- Order is inspected and piece count is verified. Packer documents any cosmetic issues with the order and market it "as if" if necessary.
- Order is professionally packed using custom packaging.
- Shipper processes the order using the customer's preferred shipping method.
Order Administration and Logistics Process
- Each order is assigned to a dedicated Sales Support Specialist (SSS).
- SSS reviews order for accuracy and monitors the order's progress through the order process.
- SSS arranges the appropriate shipping method.
- SSS provides customer service through the process and processes RMAs if needed.
Warranty Eligible
All refurbished systems and components sold by WDPI include an industry-leading product warranty. In addition, each refurbished product is eligible for the original equipment manufacturer's (OEM) maintenance plan as well as third-party maintenance programs.
