According to IT analyst firm Gartner Group, 130,000 computers a day are trashed in the United States alone. The firm also estimates that between 2006 and 2010, 925 million PCs and more than 46 million servers would be sold. As most of them will replace older equipment, that’s one large mountain of IT junk.
