Where To Get Rid Of Your Old Equipment
Image

Have you ever wondered what happens to your old server hardware once your company is finished with it? Where does it get disposed? Is it still valuable? Could I have seen an ROI on my old servers and network hardware?

There are many companies out there who will dispose of your old hardware for a fee, of course. Disposing of this hardware can be almost as time consuming and costly as it origionally was to purchase it.

5 Ways to Recession-Proof Your IT

Keith Shaw talks with Francis Carden, the CEO of OpenSpan, about some ways that IT can make sure that they're projects are not overly bulky, that legacy applications are stretched, and how application virtualization can save tons of money. While there are some great budget savings tips, a couple key items, closely related to the topic, are not discussed. While virtualization will save money over time it’s not inexpensive to implement. Keeping up with the Jeffersons

I just wanted to point out that World Data has added a few more pages to their site. Under the Dell and HP Proliant product pages, you can now click on any active link to bring you to our updated server specs. I have updated server specs for all Dell PowerEdge Servers on our site as well as all HP Proliant DL & ML servers.

If you would like to look at an easy guide to server models and specifications, you can now find them on our site. Almost all of our specifications are from the manufacturers' webpages. Manufacturers will take down old models of their products, but we are going to keep them live on our site.

Not only do we know the true value of older models, but because we bring them in, clean them, test them, and send them on their merry little way, we keep them out of landfills, refuse heaps, and garbage piles, and in data centers where they belong. I will hopefully have specs on our site for the rest of our environmentally friendly products in the next month or so.
